I liked it at the end but it took me reading 50% of the book until I got into it。 And that just doesn’t do it for me…

This book was incredibly colorful, from the characters down to the scenery, without being overly descriptive。 I thought the premise - magical children locked away from society in orphanages - was really unique。 It truly has it all: adventure, magic, suspense, romance, and moral dilemmas。 The only thing I didn't like was that the characters all felt very one dimensional。 They each had their "shtick" and never deviated。 This one is shy; that one has morbid humor; this one is grumpy; etc。 Fortunate This book was incredibly colorful, from the characters down to the scenery, without being overly descriptive。 I thought the premise - magical children locked away from society in orphanages - was really unique。 It truly has it all: adventure, magic, suspense, romance, and moral dilemmas。 The only thing I didn't like was that the characters all felt very one dimensional。 They each had their "shtick" and never deviated。 This one is shy; that one has morbid humor; this one is grumpy; etc。 Fortunately, the vast cast of characters came together to form, as a collective, a really neat group。 。。。more

This book is kindness, and hope, and joy, and happiness, and benevolence, and acceptance, and beauty, and purity, and love, and every bit of it is wonderful。 This tale made me happy and sad, it made me laugh and oh boy did it make me cry for no reason。 I knew how it was gonna end。 It didn't matter。 It didn't stop emotions from shattering every piece of my soul。Because this book represents everything I hope for in life。 It is a tale of accepting people for who they are, despite their differences, This book is kindness, and hope, and joy, and happiness, and benevolence, and acceptance, and beauty, and purity, and love, and every bit of it is wonderful。 This tale made me happy and sad, it made me laugh and oh boy did it make me cry for no reason。 I knew how it was gonna end。 It didn't matter。 It didn't stop emotions from shattering every piece of my soul。Because this book represents everything I hope for in life。 It is a tale of accepting people for who they are, despite their differences, and realising how much love there is in the world。It is so hopeful because, yes, hate exists too and it would be stupid not to acknoledge it。 But there is so much love in the world and, if we can focus on it, maybe it can be enough。My heart is so full of all these children, of all their stories so unique, of all their quirks and their jokes, I feel like it is about to explode。May everyone find a home like that house in the cerulean sea, soon or late, and may everyone be happy。Do yourself a favor and read this book。 Because it may not seem like much but there are so many wonderful feelings inside it that it will change you forever。 。。。more

This book is more whimsical than words can describe。 Like。。 it features a sweet small boy with an all consuming dream of becoming a bellhop, for him alone I would give this book 10 stars if I could。
